Chocolate, Fruit, Nut and Seed Slice
How to Have a Sweet Treat and Not Feel the Difference…
Chocolate. And Nuts. Two of my most favourite foods. Combine them and I am in heaven. I snack on nuts, dried fruit and seeds so to add chocolate makes a special treat. Especially if it is dark chocolate. Chocolate, Fruit, Nut and Seed Slice makes a healthy no bake treat option. I realise that some people prefer milk chocolate (read: half my family) so I sometimes make the slice with both milk and dark chocolate swirled together on top to please everyone. But you can choose either though.
Benefits of Chocolate Fruit, Nuts and Seeds
This slice provides, protein, fibre, antioxidants and other nutrients so you don’t need to feel guilty about eating it. In fact you will be doing yourself a favour by enjoying a piece or two. Nuts contain beneficial unsaturated fatty acids and plant sterols which help lower cholesterol. Nuts are an important part of a heart healthy diet. (Unless you are allergic to them.) Nuts also help to lower inflammation which can help reduce the risk of heart disease. The also contain good things like Omega 3 fatty acids, fibre and Vitamin E and so are good for brain development, your gut and your skin. There are similar nutrients in seeds and dried fruit is also packed with nutrients. There is so much goodness in Chocolate, Fruit, Nut and Seed Slice, it is truly healthy.
Low, Low Sugar
For me I can’t go wrong with nuts, seeds and chocolae so this really does it for me. It contains little sugar, swapping sugar for rice syrup which contains 50% sugar and you use very little. It is super easy to make and requires no baking. Simply blitz briefly in the food processor, press into a slice tin and top with melted chocolate. All you have to do is chill it to set. It is even easier to eat! But unlike a chocolate slice rich in sugar this slice is quite satsfying so you won’t overdo it.
Do try Chocolate, Fruit, Nut and Seed Slice. It may just change how you approach sweet treats.

This is a super easy slice to make, no baking required. Whiz the nuts and seeds in the food processor to chop coarsely. Add dried fruit and continue to process until chopped. You definitely don't want to make it fine. Add tahini and brown rice syrup so that a coarse paste forms. The consistency should be quite rough. Press into a slice tin then cover with melted dark chocolate. Allow to chill in fridge until firm. Cut into squares and enjoy.
